About Us

Back in the 40s & 50s our grandparents operated a little grocery store in the downtown core of their small town in the northern part of The Netherlands. The years would not always be easy for them  and it came to be some time following the liberation of The Netherlands by the Canadian troops, that our father's parents choose to begin anew. 

In 1950, our grandparents packed up their family and a few belongings and immigrated to Canada.  After a few years of working on local farms, orchards and factories, the Klompmakers purchased the first homestead family farm in the late 50's. 

Since that time, three generations have owned & operated the farm in Stirling before our family expanded operations to neighboring counties. Our third and fourth generation chicken farms are in full operation today with the fifth generation growing up farming as well.  

The opening of Family Farms Chicken & More Store is the result of a long standing aspiration and the natural extension of our dedication to bringing the farm to the table.  We are committed to promoting the value of Canadian chicken and the importance of knowing where our food is coming from.

With a focus on providing our community with an affordable option for sourcing meals, frozen foods, organic alternatives, local fare and overall delicious foods, we opened the doors on our retail outlet here in the west end of Trenton.

With a focus on the industry we know best, we always feature many frozen/fresh chicken options, but our customers can be assured that the store is brimming with many other products.
